Our season closes with pianist, Antoine Préat, returning to perform Beethoven’s second piano concerto with the Orchestra. We also perform not one, but two symphonies and feature our third Musical Director candidate, Ewa Strusinska.Firsly, Mozart’s light and cheery, Symphony no.33. Secondly, Haydn’s Symphony no.88 – a joyous gem of a piece, which makes a powerful impression and is one of his most popular works.
“I was cut off from the world, there was no one to confuse or torment me, and I was forced to become original,” explained Haydn of the circumstances that shaped his ever-fresh voice.
