Malton-based mixed voice choir, the Chanticleer Singers, will perform a special concert to mark Remembrance Day on Sunday 9th November at 4pm at St Michael’s Church, Malton.This Music for Remembrance and Meditation concert will feature John Rutter’s beautiful Requiem with instrumental ensemble. The performance will also include poems and readings, along with music by Ireland, Parry and Purcell.
Widely regarded as one of Rutter’s most moving compositions, Requiem combines traditional Latin text with English psalms to create a work of remarkable beauty and emotional depth. Its radiant harmonies, lyrical melodies and moments of contemplation have made it a modern choral classic. Under Musical Director William Dore, the Chanticleer Singers’ performance of this much-loved work offers audiences an opportunity to experience Rutter’s life-affirming message in a setting of profound musical and spiritual resonance.
