Welcome to the Park Church Music at Midday concert series. All concerts begin at 12:15pm. On March 17 our guests are mezzo-soprano Karen Albert and pianist Robert Byrens. This program includes works by Gustav Mahler and Alma Schindler Mahler illustrating the complexity of their married life.Lunch is $7.00 per person and is served from 11:15-1:15. Parking is free in the Park Church lot for concert guests when there are spaces available. Groups are welcome but, to ensure the best experience, please let us know you are coming.
Karen Albert regularly sings with orchestras, ensembles, concert series, and churches throughout the region. In addition to her work as a soloist, Karen also teaches voice at Calvin University, sings with VoxGR, and is the current Choral Resident at Park Church.
Robert Byrens is a highly regarded collaborative pianist and vocal coach and has served as artist faculty pianist and vocal coach at Grand Valley State University for thirty years, retiring in 2020.
Robert was the rehearsal pianist and vocal coach for Opera Grand Rapids from 1993 until 2018 and enjoys occasional return engagements.
