About this Event
Please join our special benefit concert of Ukrainian classical music and poetry presented to you by the Ukrainian singer and actress, soloist of a National Operetta of Ukraine, PG of Guildhall School of Music and Drama, who fled the war to London Maryana Bodnar, in partnership with a world-famous Ukrainian poet, short story writer, novelist, playwright and screenwriter, winner of the Angelus Central European Literature Award- Kateryna Babkina.
Proceeds will go towards supporting the Ukrainian medical evacuation units saving lives on the front line of Ukraine.
It is a unique opportunity to experience a rich and sophisticated program of Ukrainian classical composers, such as Lysenko, Skoryk, Stankovych, Lyatoshynskiy, Stetsenko, Dychko, Barvinkskiy, Kolodub, Runchak, Sylvestrov and original poetry (translated in English) read by the author- Kateryna Babkina.
This event is in collaboration with other talented Ukrainian musicians, who have been affected by the war and had to flee Ukraine, Yulia Ostapchuk (violin), Sofia Matvienko (flute), Dmytro Fonariuk (clarinet), Bogdan Skrypka, Jack Redman and Maksym Levytskiy on piano.
The evening will be filled with surprises as we have prepared some new pieces to premiere at the concert.
And as we aim to raise funds for the Ukrainian medical evacuation units, we will hold an Auction.
Drinks and snaks will also be available to purchase.
To help us deliver aid to Ukraine, we partner with Support Ukraine (Facebook/ Instagram), a leading volunteer-based organisation in London, whose work focused on supporting Ukraine since 2014.
