Dr. Ewell's talk, "Blacksplaining Classical Music in the Twenty-First Century" approaches the contradictory aspects of classical music from a black perspective, arguing that we can only overcome its negative facets by letting go of intractable beliefs in hierarchical superiorities based on gender, race, country, and class.
Dr. Ewell's talk will take place in the MMaP Gallery on the second floor of the John C. Perlin Arts and Culture Centre on Thursday, March 12 at 7:30 pm. This talk is open to the public, and will be followed by a reception. The talk will also be livestream on the MMaP YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/live/DQAAXF8MrxE
