About this Event
Learn how to cultivate mushrooms with your spent coffee and straw and contribute to a sustainable local food production at low costs.
What you can learn and do
In this workshop, I'll guide you through the simple cultivation process, from using coffee grounds and pasteurising straw to creating your very own mushroom grow bag.
You can expect an engaging and fun introduction to fungi and mushrooms, where you can expand your understanding of mushrooms and fungi, how they grow, their role in ecological systems and their potential benefits. You’ll learn about the symbiotic relationship between plants and fungi that goes back to the origins of life on land.
In the practical part of the workshop, you can get hands-on and make your own take-home mushroom grow bag. You will learn about how to use coffee grounds and prepare the straw and, how to create the ideal conditions, so that after a few weeks you can enjoy the fruits of you labour and harvest edible Oyster mushrooms.
