About this Event

Professor Frank Dunn CBE, DL, DSc, FRCP(Glasg), FACC

Professor Dunn has been interested in the health issues affecting Ben Hogan since his time working in New Orleans at the Ochsner Clinic. The founder of the Clinic was the surgeon who saved Hogan’s life after the road accident in 1949.

Frank met Alton Ochsner a number of times before his death in 1982. How Hogan won all those majors after the accident, we will never know. His tremendous determination and dedication to the game had something to do with it.

Frank's uncle exchanged correspondence with Bobby Jones in the last year of Jones’ life. He now has the letters in my possession, and has always been interested in Jones and in particular the challenges he faced with that most cruel of neurological disease - Syringomyelia. Frank has the full medical history with the reports of the neurologist who looked after Jones in New York.
