'Musafir hoon yaaron' (Friends, I'm a traveller) tells the story of a music composer whose unparalleled acumen revolutionized Hindi music and cinema in the 60s and 70s. Based on the life of R D Burman aka Pancham-da, Musafir captures the swing and the slide, the romance and hardships of a man who is clearly ahead of his time. His legendary father has disdained his music, influenced by Western, Latino and oriental touches. Yet he finds ways to attract musicians, directors, and fandom, and rises to the top.
Nothing stays forever, definitely not in the music world. Once a Midas man, whose music promised gold, now crestfallen with the rise of Disco. How does his own people treat him now? Presenting ‘Musafir hoon yaaron’, the tale of an immortal music man in the backdrop of brilliance, bravado and backstabbing of the Bollywood industry.
