Join the Friends of Karori Cemetery in the earliest part of the cemetery. This tour is proof that history isn't boring.Karori Cemetery is the final resting place for people whose lives ended tragically – from drowning, from murder, and from accidents of all kinds.
This tour includes the story of three militia men killed in a guncotton explosion; an attempted murder followed by suicide; a drowning or two plus other exciting stories.

Some of our walks require a moderate degree of fitness and are not suited for those with limited mobility. Please read the tour descriptions carefully to check that they will be suitable for you.
Karori Cemetery does contain some hazards. A health and safety briefing will be given at the start of our tours.
Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.
