About this Event

Totem Skateboarding is bringing the energy to Murbah Youth Fest at Murwillumbah Knox Skatepark.

This is your chance to meet, skate and learn from some of the best skateboarders in Australia. Our team will be running FREE Learn to Skate workshops, open mentoring sessions and live demo moments throughout the day.

Whether you are stepping on a board for the very first time or already skating and want to level up, our crew will be there to support you.

We’ll also be hosting an inclusive Skate JAM, open to everyone. The focus is on participation, progression and celebrating the local skate community — not competition.

This is more than just a skate session. It’s about building confidence, connecting with the community and giving young people access to positive role models.

🛹 What to expect
• Free skate workshops for beginners
• Open mentoring sessions for intermediate riders
• Live skate demos from pro riders
• An inclusive community Skate JAM
• A safe and supportive environment
• Good vibes all day

All equipment can be provided, but feel free to bring your own board and helmet if you have them.

ABOUT THE LEARN TO SKATE CLASSES

We believe in having a go, so students are encouraged to go at their own pace under the guidance of our coaches. By combining both the physical and creative elements of skateboarding, Totem gives students the opportunity to try out and practice a wide and unique variety of skills to build self-esteem in a fun, safe, and supported environment.

ABOUT THE SELF-EXPRESSION JAM SESSION

This is not a class, but a chance for participants to have extra support to focus on their own progression. Giving them the experience of a comp setting with loads of prize giveaways to be won. The session will help to boost their confidence and become familiar with and keep the momentum going to move to the next level of competing in bigger jams and comps. All while highlighting and appreciating the time, energy, and effort they have put into getting good at skating.

WHAT CLASS SHOULD I REGISTER FOR?

We have created this simple guide to help you decide what class will be best suited for you/your child.

Our beginner class is for skill level 0 to 1 and the intermediate class and self-expression jam session is for skill level 2 to 3.

Level 1 - Beginner

Level 2 - Transition into Intermediate

Level 3 - Intermediate
