Little Folks Theater is a super fun way to introduce children ages 5 -9 to theater. The class meets once a week on Tuesday from 4:00 - 5:30 pm. Class fee is $85/mo with a $50 materials fee that covers scripts, costumes and props. The class starts on April 15th and culminates in both a recital and the full performance of the "Wizard of Oz" alongside our Young Singer Actor I class on May 17th and 18th.In this 6-week class, students will be learning theater basics, acting, singing and dance movement while working on two scenes from the musical "Wizard of Oz". In the first scene Dorothy and Toto meet the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion. They each sing their songs and then are confronted by the Wicked Witch. The second scene is the Munchkinland scene in which students will play munchkins such as the Lullaby League ballerinas, the Lollipop kids and the Major, etc and learn some simple dance choreography. This is the scene they will play in the full production of "Wizard of Oz" with the older Young Singer Actor I class. Little Folks students can also play non-speaking roles such as Deadly Poppies, Winkies, Apple Trees and flying Monkeys if they wish to add some more roles.
