Tad Lauritzen Wright (born 1972, San Angelo, Texas) is an artist whose work centers on abstraction as a way of reflection. Moving fluidly between drawing, painting, photography, and sculpture, Lauritzen Wright treats art as a contemplative practice. His work is grounded as much in intuition as in formal art history.
Lauritzen Wright’s work is about connection between materials and ideas, self and environment, individual experience and collective understanding. By embracing diverse viewpoints and ambiguity, his practice positions art not as a definitive answer but as a tool for awareness in an increasingly fragmented world.
The recurring element in his work is the single line, a continuous mark that accumulates meaning through its persistence. The line functions as visual metaphor for the connection between past and present, thought and material. The line becomes both a structure and a vulnerability, recording time, hesitation, and decision making.
