This presentation highlights evidence-based strategies for managing chronic pain through multimodal approaches, with a focus on patients who have a history of opioid use disorder (OUD). Nurses play a vital role in pain assessment, implementing non-opioid interventions, collaborating within interprofessional teams, and supporting patients in achieving effective pain relief while reducing the risk of relapse or dependency. The session emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care that balances safety with quality of life.
