Join the Urban Forestry Division to learn proper mulching techniques and practice hands on learning through volunteering. The Urban Forest Arboretum was established in 2008 to display the different types of trees that residents may plant on their property or can be planted in the tree lawns. In order to properly showcase the trees, volunteers are needed to help mulch the 86 trees that are featured. Join us on May 9, from 10am-12pm, at the Bowling Green Urban Forest Arboretum, 1060 Pearl St., Bowling Green, OH. Meet at the Arboretum Kiosk near the SW Corner of the Fire Station and Arboretum. Parking is available at the Bowling Green Fire Station on Pearl St., and Peace Lutheran Church, just East of the Fire Station and Arboretum.
Participants will spend 30 minutes learning the importance of proper mulching, and why improperly mulching around trees can be so damaging. The remainder of the workshop will include hands on practice with the trees in the arboretum.
This event is free and open to the public. To register, email [email protected]. Registration is not required, but preferred.
