About this Event
Mud Club will host its first seasonal special event on the eve of the summer solstice.
To celebrate this occasion we will have various clay activities, such as dorodango (mud ball) polishing, clay crayon drawing and free range sculptures, like those made during the monthly Mud Club sessions. As well as this, the organisers would like to attempt a communal pot building with everyone as an ode to creative collaboration in the ancient practice of ceramics.
Refreshments will be provided for the afternoon and the session will be soundtracked by Hope Valley Cement Works who will play a special live set of field recordings, ambient and experimental sounds recorded at Mud Club.
We will be working with wild clay sourced locally in Manchester as an effort to connect with the earth and learn to use sustainable materials. All equipment and tools will be provided, no experience needed just bring some good organic curiosity.
Please note this event will be outdoors in the garden of Pollard Yard so we advise you wear suitable clothing.
