About this Event

New to mountain biking? Intro to MTB is your perfect starting point.

Designed for beginner riders or those returning after time away, this session builds the essential skills needed to ride safely and confidently on the trails. Our BICP-certified instructors create a relaxed, supportive environment focused on skill mastery — not speed.

We’ll cover:
• Neutral and ready body positions
• Basic braking technique
• Shifting and cadence fundamentals
• Trail etiquette
• Small obstacles and terrain features
• Building confidence on beginner trails

Recommended for: Beginner riders who have basic bike handling skills.

Bring your own mountain bike and helmet. Riders must be at least 15 years old to participate in Hale's Adult MTB Clinics.

Support MTB at Hale

Mountain bikers of all ages are drawn to Hale’s rugged, varied terrain just miles from Boston’s city line, and we’ve been eagerly expanding youth mountain biking program over the past five years.

Hale MTB Camp focuses on skill-building and ride time for an existing community of young mountain bikers. Youth MTB Club is growing that community through a fantastic team of volunteer coaches who coordinate recreational rides and opportunities to participate in races and events throughout New England. Intrepid Academy at Hale students also enjoy time on the trails as part of their semester at Hale.

We’re thrilled with our progress and are helping hundreds of riders advance, but with your help, we can do more.

Thank you for supporting MTB opportunities for youth by making your donation today.
