2026 ANNOUNCEMENT š„ We're back SUNDAY MAY 31 š³ What: Mt Coot-tha Songwriters (22nd annual event)

Enjoy a free-entry music concert at Mt Coot-tha Songwriters on Sunday May 31, from 11am to 5pm. The event is set in the cool, lush Brisbane Botanic Gardens at the base of Mt Coot-tha.
The Brisbane songwriting institution was founded in 2005 as 8 Ball Aitkenās TAFE assignment. āI am amazed and so grateful of the support Mt Coot-tha Songwriters has received for over two decades. We have stayed true to our mission of promoting Brisbaneās fine songwriting talent, and weāre blessed to all still be making music together,ā says event organizer 8 Ball Aitken.
The festival stage features six hours of non-stop original entertainment from fine Queensland blues, roots, folk, alt. country, and acoustic songwriters.
The 2025 lineup features host act 8 Ball Aitken, one-man-band sensation Alex Kosenko, folk powerhouse duo Cosmic Honey, spell binding singer-songwriters JC & The Tree, online viral video guitar whiz Majelen, and songwriting/fingerpicking troubadour Rhyley McGrath. The musicians also get together for the all-star performer set to finish off the show.
Bring a picnic or enjoy the food truck offerings. Wear a hat, slip, slop, and slap, and chill with the big Brisbane extended music family for a great day of original music in a natural setting. Mt Coot-tha Songwriters is a not-for-profit event proudly supported by Brisbane City Council and the Blues Association of South-East Queensland.
