Join us for “Forward America!”, a celebration of progress, possibility, and the American musical spirit. We’ll guide you through a program that blends the nation’s heritage with bold, contemporary voices. We open with the radiant patriotism of Carolyn Bremer’s “Early Light,” then journey through Charles Ives’ portraits of American life in “The Alcotts” and his spirited “Variations on ‘America.” We are thrilled to present a world premiere by Aryaman Joshi’s featuring soloist Karl Woederwohl on bass trombone. We’ll also share Eugene Sandel’s narration in his own “Change” as well as in Timothy Mahr’s (a familiar name, we think) evocative “Etched in Stone.” We conclude with Dr. Mahr’s uplifting “Spring Forward” and William Schuman’s rousing “Chester.” Together, we celebrate where we’ve been, where we are, and the potential of the road ahead.
