Sponsored by BARC, Inc this is a hands on workshop, by MSPCA's Roger Lauze & Kaycie McCarthy, the Equine Rescue and Training Coordinators from MSPCA at Nevins Farm, recreating scenarios that may occur when handling horses and other large animals. Training includes material on large animal body language & behavior, general equine safety and use of equipment. Amanda Hodgen, owner of Green Acres Equestrian Center, is providing the space for this training.Thru funding by Belchertown Animal Relief Committee, BARC, Inc., this course is free to all First Responders, Belchertown Veterinarians & Vet Techs, Belchertown barn owners and large animal owners along with other Belchertown residents who have a vested interest in learning how to move large animals safely and quickly. Nonresident large animal owners along with any other adult interested may attend with a $25 registration fee.
Class size is limited to 40 people to allow each attendee the opportunity to participate in hands on sessions. Please plan on bringing lunch or ordering from a local place.
