MSJR was founded by frontman, Jonathan Vanaskie, as a tribute to his friend, Michael Spade Jr., who passed away by suicide. All of the music is dedicated in memory of him. MSJR is involved in many communities across Pennsylvania and parts of the east coast, spreading awareness for suicide prevention and raising funds for multiple charities including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, SpeakUp ReachOut foundation, HeroesNeverAlone, Veterans Bushido in Greensburg, SOS Rescue, The Brandon Nash Scholarship & local Pennsylvania VFWs.
