MSE Hack 1.0: GeoAI & Serious Games for Ecosystem Restoration
The first edition of the MSE International Hackathon is organized as a flagship innovation activity within the inaugural edition of the MSE International Research and Innovation Conference. It is also closely connected to the SaltyBEATS Project and the COST SUSTAIN Action. The hackathon combines international visibility with regional relevance through engagement with the MENA Climate Network of the Hanns Seidel Foundation, as well as alignment with the UNESCO Green Education Partnership and ENoLL living lab principles, including co‑creation, real‑world experimentation, and measurable impact.
MSE Hack 1.0 explores the convergence of GeoAI—including Earth Observation, GIS, spatial analytics, and artificial intelligence—with serious games and immersive experiences such as simulation, storytelling, AR/VR, location‑based learning, and pervasive learning. The goal is to develop solutions that are both data‑driven and highly engaging.
👥 Team format: Each team must be composed of 3 members
Important: Teams are free to propose:
(i) GeoAI/AI‑only solutions,
(ii) serious games or immersive learning solutions, or
(iii) hybrid concepts combining both.
