📍 Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, Buenos Aires, Argentina📅 27 July – 2 August 2026
The 2026 MSA Annual Conference (10th edition) will gather scholars, activists, and artists from around the world to explore how memory shapes democracy in times of change and challenge.
Held in Buenos Aires – a city marked by a rich tradition of debates on memory, justice, and human rights – the conference will provide space for dialogue across disciplines and perspectives. Participants will engage in panels, roundtables, workshops, exhibitions, and cultural events, creating opportunities to connect academic research with artistic and activist practices.
This year’s theme, “Memory and Democracy,” invites us to reflect on how collective remembrance strengthens or challenges democratic life, from transitions out of dictatorship to today’s global debates on resilience, pluralism, and rights.
The conference will be bilingual (English & Spanish) and aims to foster inclusive and inspiring discussions for both established and emerging scholars.
✨ We warmly invite you to join us in Buenos Aires for a week of exchange, learning, and shared discovery.
