Let's Talk about MS Research

Join us to hear the latest MS research news

We'll be joined by Dr Emma Gray, Director of Research at the MS Society, who will share how the MS Society is investing in research to manage the impact of MS, stop it progressing, and one day, prevent future generations from developing it altogether. From lab discoveries to clinical trials and emerging treatments, Emma will highlight how research in Northern Ireland is driving progress toward a world free from MS - and how you could get involved. Emma will be joined by two co-investigators from the Northern Ireland MS Research Hub, Dr Michelle Naughton and Dr Lajos Csincsik. They will talk about the work of the Hub in its first year.

Emma Gray Bio

Emma is Director of Research and leads the strategic development of the MS Society’s broad research programme, having worked in various roles for over 14 years. Emma is responsible for our funded research programmes from the UK MS Register, MS Society Tissue Bank, translational Centres of Excellence to our novel and evolving clinical trials programme. She is key spokesperson for the MS Society as well as relationship manager for many UK and international collaborations, sitting on various committees. Before joining the MS Society in 2012, she gained a PhD in molecular neuroscience and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the former MRC Centre for Neurodegeneration Research (Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London) with a focus on molecular and cellular processes associated with neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease.
