Step back in time this summer at Mrs. Lucy’s Academy for Young Ladies, a hands-on history camp that brings the year 1820 to life! From July 15–17, young ladies will experience what it was like to be a real American girl in the early 1800s—learning through immersive activities, period skills, and everyday tasks from the past. Campers will dress in reproduction clothing inspired by early 19th-century styles, adding to the fun and authenticity of the experience. The academy is open to girls ages 8–12. Because several projects require patience and fine motor skills, we’re unable to accept campers younger than 8. To ensure the best possible experience, enrollment is limited to just 12 participants.
Pre-registration is required and must include a completed registration form, which may be emailed or mailed separately. A dress size is needed for each participant to prepare their period clothing. Campers should bring a sack lunch each day, while the site will provide a mid-morning snack and bottled water.
The camp fee is $110 per camper, due at the time of registration. If the museum must cancel the camp for any reason, all registration fees will be fully refunded. Join us for three unforgettable days of history, imagination, and old-fashioned fun!
