Movies in the Park makes its triumphant return to the Little League field next to Imagination Station on Friday, June 26, courtesy of Troutdale Recreation, with a double feature that’s part nostalgia and part pixel-powered chaos. We’re kicking things off at 7pm with 2015’s The Peanuts Movie – because watching Charlie Brown try (and fail) to kick a football is basically a rite of passage. Then at 8:30pm, settle in for the 2025 blockbuster A Minecraft Movie, where the world is blocky, the adventure is big, and a “Steve’s Lava Chicken” sing-a-long is likely in the cards.
Beyond the big screen, we’ve got FREE popcorn and a lineup of food vendors so no one gets hangry. You’re also welcome to bring your own picnic – whether it’s a gourmet charcuterie board or EZ Cheez and Ritz crackers, we respect the full culinary spectrum.
The viewing area is a fully shaded section of the ball field. Bring a blanket or low-back chairs for comfort. If you’ve got taller chairs, we ask that you set up toward the back so everyone can enjoy the show. No one wants to miss a perfectly placed block or perfectly missed kick.
Some quick notes: please leave pets at home, and remember that alcohol, smoking, and vaping are not permitted in Troutdale city parks. Lastly, we regret to announce that because of budget reductions in the proposed 2026–2027 fiscal year, funding for the City's Movie Program has been cut, resulting in the cancellation of the August 14 Movies in the Park.
