South Pacific is a 1958 American romantic musical film based on the 1949 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific, which in turn is loosely based on James A. Michener's 1947 short-storycollection Tales of the South Pacific. The film, directed by Joshua Logan, stars Rossano Brazzi, Mitzi Gaynor, John Kerr and Ray Walston in the leading roles.
It is set in 1943, during World War II, on an island in the South Pacific. Rodgers and Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC is a lighthearted musical with serious themes playing under the rhythms of some of the most wonderful standards in the American Songbook. "Some Enchanted Evening," "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair," and "I'm in Love With a Wonderful Guy" are among them.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the film start at 6:30. Suggested donation is $10. Reservations are not required. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase throughout the evening.
