Join us on Saturday, April 20 for workshops with visiting instructor Lunna Gomes! She was here back in August and we got a lot of positive feedback on her workshops. She specializes in teaching connection, comfort and creativity for Brazilian zouk drawing on her prior training in a variety of different dance styles.

Solo Technique: Uncovering Your Own Style
This class focuses on solo dance techniques to enhance skills and confidence to express yourself while connecting with others. This practice places a deep power on body awareness and self expression in connection to the music, developing an intuitive feeling for the rhythm and allowing movements to flow seamlessly. Come explore your own movement so you can add it into your Brazilian zouk.

Connection & Creativity Workshop
In this workshop, the enchanting rhythms of Brazilian Zouk serve as the backdrop for an immersive experience in creativity and connection. Through a series of engaging exercises and playful activities, participants will deepen their understanding of Brazilian Zouk while enhancing their creative thinking skills and fostering meaningful connections with others.

LEVELS
The solo technique workshop is open to all levels.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Lunna Gomes began dancing as a child, exploring various styles such as classical dance, jazz, tap dance, urban dances, and contemporary dance. In 2015, she embarked on her journey with partner dancing at Jaime Arôxa School in the city of Goiânia. She specialized in the Zouk style and, upon moving to New York City, she began developing her interdisciplinary research on body awareness and connection within the Zouk style. She has taken professional courses with Jaime Arôxa (Rio de Janeiro), Xandy Liberato (Brasília), Jessica Landon & Ryel (New York). Over the course of six years, she has taught in cities such as New York, Goiânia, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, and Belo Horizonte, bringing her unique and sensitive approach to connecting art and life, creating a safe and dynamic environment in her classes. Currently pursuing a master's degree in Performing Arts at the Federal University of Goiás in Brazil, Lunna's research focuses on improvisation and conscious movement, translating dance into a comprehensive partnership that involves versatile vocabulary, body awareness, sensitivity, and creativity.
