Move & Meander — where hiking meets yoga, breath work, and mindful presence.
About this Event

Join Jayde (RYT-200) for a Move & Meander experience—where hiking meets gentle yoga, breathwork, and mindful presence— this time set against the backdrop of a beautiful mountain to beach hike in Laguna Beach

Slow down, soak in the beach and mountain views, and reconnect with your body and breath as we bask in the summer heat🌞

This experience is intentionally designed as a flowing journey:

We'll start with an opening circle, then hike through one of El Moro Canyon's beutiful trails, stop to move through a yoga practice at the top, and then make our way back down the mountain to the beach for some time to enjoy the sand, ocean and summer sun!

🌅 Why This Experience?

Stemming from Jayde's ritual of dropping into a yoga practice mid-hike, Move & Meander aims to share that magic that's created when we move our bodies mindfully outdoors.Set against the backdrop of southern California's breathtaking landscapes, this experience invites participants to step away from screens, schedules, and daily stressors and into a slower, more embodied way of being. Through mindful movement, breath, and moments of presence in nature, we create space for the nervous system to settle, the mind to quiet, and the body to remember its innate connection to the earth. This experience aims to remind us to:

  • Slow down, be present, and regulate the nervous system
  • Witness Mama Earth's beauty
  • Move your body with intention
  • Connect in community (or solitude within community)
  • Experience some joy!

This is more than a hike—it’s a nervous system reset and a chance to move in rhythm with nature.

🧘🏽‍♀️ What to Bring

  • Yoga mat or blanket (I have several blankets If you prefer to leave yours home! I don't bring mats because it's a lot to carry, but enccourage people to bring theirs if they know they struggling with doing yoga on the ground!)
  • Water and lunch/snacks (enough to last multiple hours)
  • Comfortable hiking shoes and/or water shoes (there is a section where we will have to walk through knee deep water, so if you don't want to be barefoot, please bring shoes you are okay with getting wet)
  • Layers and sun protection(it may be cool in the morning as wel begin but will warm up as it nears the afternoon! Please bring a hat, sun glasses, umbrella, sunscreen, or any other items to provide protection from the sun, trail is mostly unshaded)

Accessibility notes

  • This is a moderate hike with a gradual inclide of about 800 ft at the beginning and steep decline as we descend down the mountain. We will take breaks on the incline to rebalance our breath and make sure no one is left behind!
  • This hike is not shaded, so please keep that in mind when preparing--hats, glasses, sunscreen, water, electrolytes, personal fans, anything you may have to help you stay cool, I reccommend to bring.
  • Please arrive on time to maintain the flow of the group

Note

  • Due to this being a longer experience and further away from Los Angeles--there will be a groupchat created on WhatsApp 1 week before the hike to coordinate carpools and give more detailed instructions on parking and arrival. Once you sign up, please look out for an email in the coming weeks with info on how to be added to the groupchat.
  • I will be doing a test hike at this location on *TBD, please click here if you would like to join that hike.

🌊 About Move & Meander and your Instructor:
Move & Meander is a nature-based experience rooted in mindful movement, breath, and connection. Each gathering is designed to support grounding, regulation, and reconnection—with self, others, and the earth. Jayde Barber is a multidisciplinary practitioner working at the intersection of yoga, mental health, education, and visual storytelling. With a background in mental health, peer support, and social work—particularly alongside homeless and underserved youth at Youth Moving On—Jayde’s work centers nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and making restorative and healing tools more accessible to communities that have historically had limited access to them.

Jayde has been practicing yoga since the age of eight, first turning to mindful movement as a way to manage severe anxiety and panic. That lived experience continues to shape her approach to teaching: grounded, trauma-informed, and focused on using embodied practices to calm the nervous system and support collective well-being. After completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training at the Tree Yoga Cooperative, Jayde began offering accessible yoga through Tides of Jayde, bringing nervous-system-supportive movement into community, workplace, and public spaces with an emphasis on inclusivity, self and collective regulation, and accessibility.
