Got to get out for mountain biking & some exploring in Rotorua?
Join us to the HOME of MTB in NZ, Whakarewarewa Forest!
On this trip you get cabin level accomodation, hot pools, fitness, friendship, the chance to ride the Whakarewarewa trails (at any level you wish), and hosting from GTGO Founder Robert Bruce
Riders are most welcome to ride the 'forest track' (whole way around the Redwoods) if that is your style, Ebikes welcome if you wish....or ride shuttles and hit the downhills.. the choice is yours!
Also this time, we're using the second day to visit the Skyline Gondola. Ride bikes or Luge, or sit in the cafe, the choice is yours.
***********************
For this trip, we will depart Auckland early on Saturday. We should have you on the trails by mid-late morning for a full day of riding unguided wherever you want to go.
nb - Unguided means the group rides wherever they want (together or not), at their level, and you are not being coached or guided around the tracks. In saying that, of course there's always someone experienced to ride with on a group trip!
You can expect that people on the trip will be regulars at Rotorua and it will be fun safe and easy for you to learn the ropes and perhaps explore trails you've not seen before.
Group founder Robert Bruce is the driver / host of the trip and will be riding.
After riding, we will soak our feet at the Secret Spot (google it, it's awesome) and either eat there, or go back to our nearby accommodation and do a shared cook-up in the Rotorua Thermal Holiday Park kitchen. Either way it will be fun.
The next day, Sunday, we will go to the Skyline and ride the downhill trails there, or you can eat / chill / go on the luge. The cost of gondola or any uplifts etc is seperate.
Ticket price includes:
- bus drive from Auckland to Rotorua return (pickups at Bombay or along the way are fine). Bring your bike in our trailer or rent one of our bikes (*extra cost for a rental, message if you need a bike)
- drive to and from accommodation to Redwoods forest
- hosting from GTGO Founder Robert Bruce for the whole weekend (will be riding, but not guiding)
- one night accommodation in a cabin.
- you get full access to all kitchen, showers, hot pools, and all facilities in the camp ground!
Capacity for this adventure is 20 max.
