We're very excited that Janine Brody (Sydney) has agreed to come to Hobart to run this two day workshop where you'll learn how to make drape and flop moulds and sprig moulds. Sunday 14 June and Saturday 20 June. $265 / $295. Limited to 10 spaces only. https://www.archaicaschola.com.au/service-page/2-day-mould-making-workshop?referral=service_list_widget
Moulds are used so you can replicate the same shape quickly. The mould you make in day one is then used to make multiples in day two. Utilising black clay and slip you will make your textured Dark Mofo ceramic ware.
Janine Brody's varied arts practice spans over 35 years and includes designing and producing a range of artworks, bespoke ceramic products and commissions for architecture, retail, restaurants and galleries whilst running a production studio. Janine was a partner in Cone 9, a business that focused for 10 years on making handmade tiles for tile retail outlets around Australia. Currently, Janine is teaching ceramics at Hornsby and Northern Beaches TAFEs in NSW. Her studio practice focusses on making ceramic artworks that include everyday objects that act as a vehicle to explore social connections and commentary.
