Motivational Interviewing & Stages of Change (In-person)

Motivational Interviewing and Stages of Change is a three‑hour, skills‑focused training designed for professionals who support individuals in recovery from substance use and behavioral health challenges. This interactive session provides participants with practical tools to strengthen engagement, enhance intrinsic motivation, and effectively guide individuals through the process of change.

Grounded in evidence-based practices, the training introduces the core principles of Motivational Interviewing (MI)—a collaborative, person-centered communication style proven to improve treatment outcomes. Participants will learn how to use MI techniques to reduce resistance, evoke clients’ own reasons for change, and build stronger therapeutic alliances.

The training also offers a clear, accessible exploration of the Stages of Change model, helping professionals identify where an individual is in their recovery journey and tailor interventions accordingly.

Continental Breakfast will be provided, and NAADAC-approved CEUs.
