Yuko Mabuchi Trio
Hailing from Japan, she is currently taking the global music scene by storm, showcasing her awe-inspiring talent as a pianist while staying true to her roots.
At the tender age of four, Yuko found her rhythm in the world of classical piano in her hometown of Fukui. However, she didn’t stay confined to just one genre. Growing up, she was drawn towards American R&B, Hip-Hop, and Blues, but it was jazz that struck a chord deep within her. In fact, jazz captivated her so much that she dedicated her post-high school years to studying jazz piano. This early initiation into a multitude of genres fueled her music into an exotic mix, making it as unique as the artist herself.
On stage, Mabuchi often pays homage to her Japanese roots by donning traditional kimonos. It’s a beautiful gesture that signifies jazz as a universal art form, embracing and harmonizing cultural diversity.
In Mabuchi’s music, you’ll hear a harmony of Jazz and Classical, a tribute to her belief in the “oneness” of music. Through her unique fusion of genres, she paints a universal language of rhythm and melody that speaks to the heart of her audience worldwide. So, if you’re looking for a unique musical experience that leaves you touched and inspired, make sure to check out Yuko Mabuchi.

Fingerprints
Fingerprints, the popular Dallas based sextet, is known as “one of the best kept music secrets in the South.” For many years standing room-only crowds have been lining up to hear the perfect blend of jazz and R&B by the Fingerprints musicians at venues and music festivals throughout the South and Southwest.
The distinguished sound of Fingerprints has been shaped through the years by its long-term members: Frederick Nichelson (bass), Claud Hardrick (saxophone, flute, vocals), Ardina Lockhart (lead vocals), Kennan Wylie (drums, percussion), Jordache Grant (keyboards), and Robert Lacroix (guitar).
The group, Fingerprints, was founded in 1986 by guitarist Roy Machado and bassist Frederick Nichelson while they were both music students at the prestigious University of North Texas. “We started the band in college,” said Nichelson, “and have stayed together since that time in collaborations and performances. Many of our other band mates and fellow students at the time went on to success with major artists like the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Harry Connick, Jr, Seal, Sheryl Crow and others. We felt it was important to create our own voice in the music community and remained dedicated to that idea. ”Nichelson, a native “Memphian”, grew up in the shadow of Stax Records legends and their contemporaries such as, The Memphis Horns, Kirk Whalum and the Bar-Kays. In addition to the “core group”, Fingerprints frequently features talented vocalists including Katina Butler, Ardina Lockhart, and Toni Redd.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL MULTICULTURAL WESTERN HERITAGE MUSEUM
Founded in 2001, the Museum acknowledges the multicultural contributions of Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, European Americans, Asian and African Americans in the settlement of the American frontier. Works of artists and others who documented people and events of the time via journals, photographs, and other historical items are part of the museum's collection of overlooked materials that tell, often for the first time, our complete story. Through various educational programs (e.g., storytelling sessions, "Forgotten Cowboys Tour," cultural heritage workshops, historical reenactments, participatory learning, and hybrid programming) at the museum and in the community, the Museum shares our multicultural western heritage while instilling positive values of diversity, tolerance, hard-work, and determination. Visitors to the Museum and at our traveling exhibitions leave with an awareness that the American West came into being through the struggles and triumphs of racially and socio-economically diverse people.
, our recent effort to raise funds for our relocation and exhibit preservation.
