Mother's Day weekend is just around the corner and we are facilitating another FREE your THINGS weekend..
π What better way to make your Mommy happy than to declutter and free up some space, or to go out shopping for free things!! π

π HOW TO SIGN UP
Message or email us ([email protected]) with:
β your address, including postal code
β a brief list of the free things you expect to have
and we will add your location to our interactive map.
π DEADLINE TO SIGN UP

Late entries cannot be added to the map.

π PROCEDURE FOR PLACING ITEMS AT CURBSIDE
β This event runs from 9 AM Saturday, May 9th to 4 PM Sunday, May 10th
β Put your items at the end of your driveway or on the curb during the weekend.
β Clearly mark your items with a "FREE" sign.
β Items should be in good condition for re-use or able to be repaired.
β Keep items you do not want to give away close to your home, or inside, to avoid confusion.
β Remove all uncollected items from the curb BY DUSK on Sunday, May 10th please
β Do not discard items on another person's lawn.
π PROCEDURE FOR TREASURE HUNTERS
β Respect private property. Do not walk or drive on people's lawns.
β Take only the item(s) at the curb marked "FREE".
β Obey traffic laws. Do not block traffic or park illegally.
β Please watch out for children and pets.
β Respect other treasure hunter's personal space and distance.
π WHAT CAN BE PLACED AT THE CURB
β books, CD's, DVD's
β furniture, small appliances
β toys, sports equipment
β tools, gardening equipment
β kitchen items
β construction materials
β electronics (working only)
β clothing
β holiday decor
π WHAT SHOULD NOT BE PLACED AT THE CURB
β Items that are not re-usable.
β Items that could be infested with bed bugs (eg. mattresses, bedding).
β Items that are unsafe to give away (eg. expired car seats). Visit the Consumer Product Safety Bureau to find out more.
π WHAT TO DO WITH LEFTOVER ITEMS
β Donate to a local charity or community group.
β Post your items on Facebook marketplace, Kijiji or Craigslist.
β When in doubt, find out. Contact the Recycling Council of BC (1-800-667-4321) to find out if your items are recyclable.
