Join us for our May Assembly on Sunday, May 10 at 11am as we celebrate Mother’s Day and explore Building Better Humans at CFI West.The people who shape us rarely do so alone. Parents, teachers, mentors, caregivers, and communities all play a role in helping us become who we are. This month, we’ll reflect on the responsibility we share in building a more compassionate, curious, and informed world for the next generation.
Our speaker this month is Sam McGuire from American Atheists, presenting “Reclaiming Public Education: State Strategies to Defend Secular Schools,” a look at the growing challenges facing church-state separation in public education and how communities can respond.
Music this month will be led by Steve Watkins. We’ll also hear from Aaron Carter during Trying Our Best, and our Creative Space will feature the SALA Kids doing a short play they wrote called, “Death of Mushroom Grove.”
Hosting this month will be led by Meredith, and as always, we’ll gather for music, reflection, community sharing, and the kind of connection that reminds us none of us are built alone.
We’ll also have childcare available, and we’d love for you to bring a dish to share for our potluck after the Assembly.
