About this Event

Motherly Love is a safe, non-judgmental space to discuss the realities of modern motherhood with people who get it.

No subject is off bounds - whether you are struggling with loneliness, feeding, sleep deprivation, shifts in identity, body image issues, relationship issues, returning to work, lack of freedom, heightened anxiety, birth trauma, feelings of failure, feelings of guilt, lack of support or anything else, we will be here to listen, empathise and understand.

We know how stressful it is getting anywhere on time with a baby, so feel free to drop in at any point during the session - there is no such thing as late!

There is space for buggies, changing facilties, toys for babies and a hot drink for mum.

Motherly Love uses a Pay What You Can Afford model to ensure the group can run sustainably. We suggest paying between £5-£15 per session, however any contribution will be hugely appreciated. If payment is a barrier to you attending, please do send us a message on [email protected] so we can chat.

Motherly Love is co-run by Gemma Capocci (a BACP registered Counsellor & Psychotherapist) and Milli Richards (a former NHS Peer Support Specialist) and was born in 2019 from our own lived experience of perinatal mental illness. Since then we have supported 100s of women and birthing people in Waltham Forest and we recently attended a Parliamentary Roundtable with MPs, Heads of Charities and Policy Makers to discuss Maternal Mental Health and the NHS 10yr plan.
