The film:
MOTHERLOAD captures a new mother’s quest to understand the increasing isolation and disconnection of modern life, its planetary impact, and how cargo bikes could be an antidote.
Filmmaker Liz Canning cycled everywhere until she had twins in 2008. Motherhood was challenging, but to Liz hauling babies via car felt stifling. She Googled “family bike” and uncovered a global movement of people replacing cars with cargo bikes: long-frame bicycles designed for carrying heavy loads. Liz set out to learn more, and MOTHERLOAD was born.
Since its world premiere in May 2019, MOTHERLOAD has been on a Global Screening Tour featuring over 500 live and virtual venues.

Cargo and E-Bike Display:
See what other parents and friends are riding, with a display of bikes currently being used. You'll be surprised how much one bike can carry!
There will also be a display of new e-bikes thanks to event sponsors Will Ride: E-Bike Specialists.

What else:
- This is a child-friendly event. There will be a kid's zone set up with activities and fun for all ages.
- Once the Pozible campaign is over, we will switch to regular ticket sales (pending capacity).
- You can book catering through your ticket (including if you do a Pozible pledge), once our Pozible campaign goal is reached.
- There will be a cash bar.
- There will be bike parking outside at the venue.
- Cargo bikes will be displayed inside.
- The venue is wheelchair accessible.
