On March 6, 2020, she was still performing as a student in a Breathing Ensemble on our stage. Now β one pandemic and five years later β ππ»πΈπ² π©π²πΏππΉππ½π² returns to Walter. This time with her own trio, alongside Loni Cornelis and Artan Buleshkaj. Verslype proves what the jazz department of the Conservatory of Antwerp promises: freshly graduated musicians building their own projects and bringing a new audience along.
Afterwards comes π πΌππ΅π²πΏ π§πΌπ»π΄ππ², the trio of Mola Sylla, Oscar Jan Hoogland, and Frank Rosaly. Three musical explorers, each with their own compass: Sylla, griot from Dakar, weaving stories with rhythm and voice; Hoogland, Amsterdam keyboard prodigy and inventor of an electric clavichord; and Rosaly, a drummer who moved from Chicago to Amsterdam and since seems to be everywhere at once in the jazz and improvised music scene. Together: a new mother tongue you didnβt even know you spoke.
