Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend with a lush and lyrical fusion of jazz and classical traditions. In this unique collaboration between the Tony Hagood Quartet and the Tony Hagood Chamber Orchestra, we explore the rich possibilities that emerge when strings, and Tony’s Quartet converse.
This genre-blending program features timeless works beautifully arranged for chamber orchestra, including pieces like Duke Ellington’s Single Petal of a Rose, Billy Strayhorn’s Lush Life, George Gershwin’s Summertime, and Clare Fischer’s Pensativa. You'll also hear cinematic selections from composers like Michel Legrand and Johnny Mandel, along with new arrangements of jazz standards and original works crafted for this one-of-a-kind ensemble.
With sweeping melodies, rich textures, and moments of pure improvisational magic, this concert offers a vibrant, heartfelt way to honor the beauty of music—and the people we love.
