About this Event
The Morven Sustainability Lab (MSL) strategic plan will be submitted to the Provost this semester – though impactful initiatives are already underway! Join Elizabeth K. Meyer, MSL Faculty Director, for a guided walk and talk through Morven’s landscape to learn how MSL’s mission and goals are manifesting themselves in new courses, land labs, nature-connection programs, and land management planning/practices for Morven’s gardens, fields, and forests.
The walk will be approximately one hour, with time to explore on your own and enjoy a boxed lunch after. We have ten miles of hiking trails cleared—up and down Carter Mountain (6 m loop) or through the fields and valleys (2 m and4 m loops). You can pick up a map on site.
Additional Information:
We will be meeting at the Main House – where boxed lunches will be provided. Please wear supportive walking shoes and bring your refillable water bottle. MSL can offer workspace in the Main House for attendees before and after the event to support the commute time during the work day.
Transportation:
Free parking is available at Morven. Attendees are encouraged to carpool. Vans will be leaving Skipwith Hall (1490 Leake Dr) at 11:00 am and can accomodate 12 attendees. The van will return to Grounds by approximately 1:30 pm. If you would like a ride in the van, please indicate so in the registration form.
