About this Event
A bold new performance piece directed by Matvey Cherry, MORTIGO takes its name from a fusion of vertigo and mortido — the Freudian drive toward self-destruction.
Structured like a triptych, the narrative moves its central figure (Thomas Hogan) through a series of lessons: from a collapsing dictatorship, to a surreal Spanish bullfight staged in pursuit of love (Emily Eshoo), and finally, to the haunted interior of a washed-up rockstar visited by his mother’s ghost (Sophia Lamar).
Striking high-fashion looks, a towering rolling ladder as sculptural centerpiece, and three monumental projection screens shape the visual landscape. This is show as cinema, ritual, and dream.
