A skill-based tournament based on total token accumulation. Each player starts with two tokens and competes in best-of-one matches, wagering one token per game. Winners collect both tokens, while losers walk away empty-handed but may continue playing if they have tokens remaining. The player with the most tokens at the end of the event is declared the winner. In the event of a tie, a final one-game, winner-takes-all match will determine the champion. Sign-ups close at a set time to finalize participants, and walk-ins may be accepted if space allows. Sportsmanship and respectful behaviour are required.Tournament Rules:
Format:
* A skill-based tournament based on total token accumulation during the event.
* Each registered player will receive two tokens at the beginning of the event.
* Players may continue competing throughout the event to build their token count.
Registration:
* Players may register on-site at the theatre or online prior to the event.
* Walk-in registrations may be allowed if space permits and its before the start of the event.
* Sign-up closes at when 50 participants sign up or when the event starts.
Match Rules:
* Each match consist of one - three round game of Mortal Kombat II.
* Before each match, both contestants will place one token on the arcade machine control panel.
* The winner of the match receives both tokens.
* The losing player walks away from that match without receiving any tokens.
* At the end of the event, the player with the most tokens will be declared the winner.
* In the event of a tie, a final tie-breaker match will be played. One game, winner takes all.
Code of Conduct:
* All players are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.
* Respectful behaviour toward opponents, staff, and spectators is required.
* Unsportsmanlike conduct, including harassment, taunting beyond friendly competition, or disruptive behaviour, may result in disqualification at the organizer’s discretion.
* The goal of the event is fair, competitive, and fun for everyone.
