We are very happy to announce our 86th Raga Revival will be held at The Forum by Taurya in Morrisville on April 12 2025 at 4pm.The Forum is located at

NC Raga Revival is a monthly concert series showcasing the music and dance of the Indian diaspora and collaborations with other world music artists.
We are excited to offer a triple feature in the following order:

Suggested Donation- $20 per person. However, no contribution is too large or small.

Artist Bios
Ravi Deshpande is a Senior at East Chapel Hill High School. He has been singing since age three and has performed in many live concerts. He has been learning Indian Classical music for the last 6 years under Shri Narendra Datar from Toronto. He has also been learning piano for 10 years and has received National Roll recognition for 8 years on National Piano playing auditions. He has blended his love for Indian and Western music by participating in the UNC Summer Jazz Camp as a vocalist and loves to blend Bollywood and pop Acapella mashups. He actively shares his musical talents through his YouTube channel, "GaanaSonata." Beyond music, Ravi is a student ambassador for FOODiversity, where he uses his singing abilities to raise awareness about food insecurity, particularly for individuals with food allergies.
Krishna Mariwalla is 17 years old and in the 12th grade. He belongs to the Farrukhabad gharana, and has been learning Tabla for 10 years from Sri Suryaksha Deshpande, a senior disciple of Pandit Arvind Mulgaonkar. Krishna has participated in many tabla performances and has won first place in several solo competitions. He currently holds a pre diploma in tabla and is pursuing a diploma this year.
Gargi Dixit is a Hindustani classical vocal music student. She has been learning vocal music for the past 11 years from Mrs. Vaijayanti Gholap in Pune, India, who is the disciple of Khansaheb Gulam Khwaja. She is a recent graduate of UNC Chapel Hill where she studied biostatistics.
Nihar Paranjpe is a multi-talented artist and athlete. Nihar began learning tabla at the age of 12 under the legendary Ustad Zakir Hussain, and by 17, he gave his first ticketed concert alongside a disciple of Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma. He has since performed with renowned sitarist Ustad Zunain Khan and toured across the U.S., captivating audiences with his tabla solos. For the past 12 years, he has also been dedicated to teaching tabla both in person and online. Beyond music, he is a state champion bodybuilder with ambitions of turning professional. As a nutritionist, he runs his own gym in Raleigh, helping others achieve their fitness goals!
Sejal Vaidya is a highly accomplished Hindustani classical vocalist with advanced training in Mewati and Gwalior Gharana. She has given numerous stage and TV performances while receiving prestigious awards and accolades. She has achieved a high level of competence in Khayal gayaki and Haveli Sangeet under the able guidance of Pt. Niraj Parikh a senior disciple of Pt. Jasraj. She has been giving performances/ training for the last 17 yrs in US and currently resides in RTP area.
Prathamesh Deshpande is currently learning from maestro Shri Aditya Kalyanpur,disciple of Ustad Zakir Hussain and Ustad Alla Rakha, and has been learning tabla for the past 17 years. He is pursuing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from NC State University. He holds Sangeet Visharad- Tabla and has played for various concerts and occasions in India and the US for Hindustani Classical and Carnatic music. Prathamesh has also played for the Chamber Orchestra at NC State University Music Department and Raleigh Civic Symphony Orchestra. He is an active learner of music and aims to grow his career in both Mechanical Engineering and music.
Deepak Kulkarni comes from the cradle of Hindustani classical music - Dharwad in Karnataka and developed a deep interest in music at a very young age. He is trained in both Harmonium and Tabla instruments. Deepak has received training in the Lucknow Gharana style from Shri Debasish Choudhuri. He is receiving advanced training in Harmonium from Pt Vyasmurti Katti. He has performed solo and has accompanied artists in the US as well as several visiting artists from India. As a promoter of classical music, he is actively involved in organizing concerts for the younger generation in his hometown of Dharwad. He also provides training for young artists interested in learning the nuances of Indian classical music.
