My what a task we had to clear up the litter that was everywhere around the town. We have some very kind and generous people in Morpeth, 18 of them came along and what a job they did. 50 bags were picked including a shopping basket, metal bars, old saw etc. Despite Newcastle’s FA Cup match being on, a few came early to complete the clean-up, hence why the team photo does not show everyone.
What a difference they made in just 1.5 hours, we had planned to hit 10 routes – we blitzed 9 of them so a job well done.
Can I thank everyone who came along for their support – you really do make a difference and make Morpeth a lovely place to live.
Our next Litter Blitz is Sunday 30th March – again meet Goosehill car park at 12:45pm, Litter Blitz 1pm – 2:30pm. Come along the more who come to support the more areas we can hit.
