About this Event
Morning of Mindfulness & Mini-Fundraiser for Empty Mountain
hosted by Empty Mountain Practice Center
Sunday April 19 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Open Way Mindfulness Center,
702 Brooks in Missoula.
Program will include sitting meditation, walking meditation, a joint talk by OI members Nicole & Mike Dunn on How Do You Want to Live?, and an open sharing circle.
A brief origin story of Empty Mountain, along with a short slideshow, will also be a thing happening as part of Mike & Nicole’s joint talk. (With maybe a song or spoken word piece tossed in too for good measure.)
The Mini-Fundraiser Part. We are committed to organizing events free of charge, and the programming Empty Mountain offers is not without cost or value. For this event we are asking for a $20 suggested donation, though please know all are welcome to attend regardless of ability to pay. We will also have Nicole’s poetry books & original calligraphies and cards for sale (cash only please).
Payment. The suggested donation amount can be paid in cash at the event or through PayPal ahead of or after the event through our website here.
Who We Are. Founded and led by OI members Nicole & Mike Dunn, Empty Mountain (EM) is a small, woodsy, off-grid, slow-growing mindfulness practice center rooted in the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh situated near Superior, MT (about 60-miles west of Missoula). EM hosts days of mindfulness, online practice groups, summer camping retreats, and community events and aspires to offer seasonal or full time residential opportunities down the line.
