Schedule

Friday 13th February 2026: 10:30am – 12:00 noon

  • 10:30 – 10:40 | Welcome & introductions
  • 10:40 – 11:40 | Guided reminiscence activities with nostalgic objects, displays and brands
  • 11:40 – 12:00 | Refreshments, conversations, and informal closing
    (Timings remain flexible to support individual comfort and needs.)

Led By

This event will be led by Paul Fairclough and Mark Fitzgerald, GMP from Morning of Memories, who bring extensive experience in reminiscence‑based engagement and community memory activities.

Hosted By

The session is hosted and supported by staff and volunteers from the Salford Institute for Dementia, who will be present throughout to assist with:

  • Welcoming guests
  • Supporting activities
  • Providing guidance and conversation prompts
  • Coordinating facilities, layout, and accessibility needs

Activities

  • Hands‑on exploration of nostalgic objects, brands and memorabilia
  • Memory‑spark activities designed to encourage conversation and connection
  • Gentle intergenerational discussions supported by students and volunteers
  • Space for community members, carers, and people with memory challenges to share stories in a relaxed setting

Catering

Complimentary refreshments will be provided, including a selection of nostalgia‑themed treats inspired by familiar brands often linked with positive memory recall.

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and light snacks will be available throughout.

Car Parking

Parking is available at the Frederick Road Campus Car Park.

  • Usual parking charges apply — please ensure you pay for parking on arrival.
  • Disabled parking is available directly in front of the Podiatry Clinic, conveniently close to the Dementia Hub.
