Begin your morning with Tai Chi, in the quiet, light-filled Still Room Studio overlooking the beautiful grounds of Keswick Hall. As the sun rises and warms the day, the view becomes part of the practice — spacious, grounding and softly inspiring. It is a serene setting that naturally invites stillness, breath and gentle presence.

These weekly Tai Chi sessions offer a calm, steady way to reconnect with your body. Through flowing sequences and mindful attention, you will explore balance, grounding and quiet strength. The atmosphere is warm, unhurried and supportive, allowing you to move with comfort, curiosity and ease.

Tai Chi is suitable for all levels of experience and all levels of fitness, including complete beginners. Movements can be adapted at any time, making this a truly inclusive practice.

These sessions reflect The Still Room Studio’s values of stillness, authenticity, lightness and gentle contribution. You are welcome exactly as you are.


Your Facilitator

Jonathan Drake is a Tai Chi practitioner and movement educator with over three decades of experience supporting people to move with greater ease, balance and awareness.

Originally trained in medicine before qualifying as an Alexander Technique teacher in 1982, he has taught in Norwich since 1988, offering calm, inclusive and accessible approaches to mindful movement.


Tickets

£12 per session

Places are intentionally limited so the studio remains spacious, calm and supportive.


What to Expect Each Wednesday

• A warm welcome and gentle arrival

• Guided Tai Chi sequences exploring balance, ease and grounding

• Breath-led movement that supports calm, clarity and focus

• Time to take in the morning light and the peaceful grounds as the landscape wakes

• A steady closing to help you move into the day with intention


No previous experience is required. Movements are accessible, adaptable and taught with warmth.


What to Bring

• Comfortable clothing you can move freely in

• Soft-soled shoes or warm socks

• A sealed water bottle

• A light layer such as a jumper or shawl


Drawing on his background in the Alexander Technique, ongoing study in the Yang style of Tai Chi, and additional training in the Shaw Method of swimming and indoor rowing, Jonathan brings a steady, intuitive and adaptable teaching style. His focus is simple and sustaining — helping people rediscover comfort, curiosity and confidence in how they move.

These sessions are hosted by The Still Room Studio, a trading division of Sawtooth Studios Ltd (VAT registered). Ticket prices include VAT.


Venue Information

Please enter via the main front door of Keswick Hall. Parking is available in the Main Visitor Car Park to the side of the hall. Please follow signs on arrival.


Access

The studio is located on the first floor. A lift is available for anyone who prefers or requires step-free access. If you would like support on arrival, please let us know.


Age Requirement

These sessions are for adults aged 18 and over.


Mobility and Comfort

Tai Chi is a standing practice, though every movement can be adapted for comfort. If you require modifications or additional support, please let us know.


Sensory Considerations

These classes are quiet, gentle and slow-paced. You are welcome to move, pause or adapt your practice as needed.


Refunds

Tickets are non-refundable unless a class is cancelled by the organiser. If you are unable to attend, we will always do our best to help, although exchanges cannot be guaranteed.


Photography and Recording

No photography or recording will take place without your consent. This preserves a calm, private and respectful space for everyone.


Data Use

Attendee information collected during booking will be used only for administration and communication relating to these sessions. It will not be shared outside Sawtooth Studios Ltd.
