About this Event
Come join us for a morning of nervous system regulation, shifting our bodies from fight or flight mode to a rest and digest - all to the sound of music and ocean waves.
What is Breathwork?
Breathwork is a modality that focuses on breathing exercises which help regulate the nervous system - shifting it from a sympathetic state (fight or flight) to a parasympathetic state (rest & digest). During these guided active breathing exercises, the body floods with oxygen, which increases endorphins, decreases cortisol (stress hormone), increases melatonin (calming hormone), which can lead to decreased feelings of anxiety and depression. It has the potential to lower blood pressure and reduce feelings of pain, while also making the mind sharper. "The body keeps the score," meaning that the mind/body connection is so powerful and our body has the tendency to hold onto trauma that we feel we may have worked through. Breathwork works with the unconscious and subconscious - moving emotion and energy through the body.
As emotions move through the body, we work with the 90% of our decision making that comes from our subconscious- our past, our belief systems, our trauma, our unresolved feelings.
We take about 22,000 breaths a day. When we spend the time focusing on our breath with active breathing techniques, we are able to bring back our control of the nervous system.
What can I expect?
-Discussion surrounding topic recently arising (self love, peacefulness, etc).

-Guided resting breath exercise while our body works its magic healing
