Matthew, Rikki, and Philip will give you the inside scoop on what casting professionals look for when hiring actors. How do you make a great impression and stand out with your self tape OR at a live audition or virtual callback? We'll pass along our best tips!
Timing: 1:00pm to 5:00pm
This session will cover Live Auditioning and Video/Virtual Auditioning, as well as a variety of exercises and techniques including but not limited to improv work, on-camera scene work/auditioning techniques, audition do's and don’ts... plus a variety of fun acting exercises along the way.
Want feedback directly from a casting director on your performance? Ready for a redirect? This is your chance.
ALL ACTORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO COME PREPARED WITH A 60-90 sec monologue of choice or any other audition piece. Could be a commercial or film script with reader, etc. Share it with the class, and get critiques from the pros!
Rikki Gee, our "queen of improv," will put your creative skills to the test with the improvisational section of this workshop. Wanna show us a bit more of your skills than we usually get to see in your self-tapes? This is your chance to play and impress!Philip Gordon, our tech guru, will show you how to self-tape like a pro so that every audition makes you shine.
We will wrap up the day with Q&A your chance to ask Matthew &Teamfor specific insight or advice.
Matthew is an American and Canadian casting director, proudly a member of both CDC & CSA. He has cast numerous feature films and TV series across North America and countless commercials and print projects as well. Morgan Casting has cast features for directors James Franco, Alison Eastwood, John Krasinski, Tate Taylor, and Paul Schrader, just to name a few. Hear the best tips from someone with international casting insight and extensive experience!
