COFFEE WITH A CURATOR
Director and Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Sarah Kohn, Lecturer
Director and Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Sarah Kohn explores the ways in which portraiture can function beyond just depicting physical features. From expressing someone’s social position, including their power and status, to their character and virtues, portraits can tell us a lot about the person being depicted, as well as the artist who made the artwork. In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, this talk will cover American artists creating portraiture in the 20th and 21st centuries.
