More than a "Crisis" -- Midlife Women's Workshop

In this participatory workshop, Dana will draw on studies of personal transformation, as well as personal experience, to discuss the emotional and spiritual characteristics of a midlife transformational journey (The Catalysts, The Stages, The Transformational Opportunities), where people commonly get stuck along the way, and the incredible power that can result from traveling on this messy, yet magical journey. Expect a deep dive into the inner lives of women in midlife.

Dana's desire is for women to leave this workshop with a greater understanding for the complexity of midlife, so they can:

• Recognize the common BIG changes and questions that arise during midlife, thus normalizing their own experiences
• Better understand the transformative potential behind incredibly destabilizing midlife situations
• Find community for talking about BIG midlife changes - After the Workshop, there will be an optional walk through Palisades Park, where you can continue to connect and share midlife experiences.

This workshop is appropriate for women who are either already in midlife (mid-30s to mid-60s) or want to learn what to expect before they get there! It’s a casual, interactive learning opportunity.

We will start promptly, so please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to park and get settled.

Please bring a notebook and pen or computer to take notes. There may also be time to write reflections.

We will be sitting on grass and may be in the sun. Please bring what you need to feel comfortable (i.e. a towel/blanket to sit on, hat, sun protection, etc.)

Metered parking is available on Ocean Ave. Alternatively, there is free parking on the side streets east of Ocean Ave.

Dana Horstein is a Certified Deep Transformational Coach for Women in Midlife and the founder of Her own major midlife changes led her to transition from teaching to coaching women using embodied, spiritual practices. The idea for this workshop stemmed from wanting to offer other women what she didn't initially have when her own midlife changes began (and what she is still seeking in some ways!) -- information and community for this stage of life. She is a nature lover, avid dancer, qi gong practitioner, semi-bookworm, closet-poet-turned-blogger, traveler, seeker, and Spanish speaker. Through all her various paths, she has been dedicated to supporting people with learning, growth, and transformation.
